Six Fishing For Compliment Ideas Using Social Media
Yesterday, I read a tweet by WhaleCottage and it reminded me of the difficulty we have in using social media effectively. Let's have a look at the following example where the owner of this guest house published a guest's testimonial.

Even though, you know it's more credible when your guest or clients, rather than you, publish compliments, it's easier said than done. The challenge is, how do you make it easy for your people to amplify your message wherever they go? In other words, how do you get them to compliment you using social media networks? You Ask Them. This is what I suggest you do:
- Your off line promotional material should share your social media profiles or where they can find you to connect.
- You should, directly, ask people to follow you (on twitter for example) or become a fan of your Facebook page.
- If you use Twiiter.com. You should ask them to tweet any compliments @yourtwitterusername (
- When you get an @yourtwitterusername compliment retweet it so that it appear in your twitter profile.
- Give your guest (clients) a reason to take photos of their stay or visit and ask them to email you these with any compliments or suggestion they may have.
- Revamp your out date guest book. Many guest houses, wine farms, businesses have a guest book. This is nice but it's not an effective social media tool....any more. I suggest you get a black board and crayons. Ask your guest, visitors, clients to write any suggestion or compliment on the black board. Then take your camera and snap away. Now you have a credible testimonial that you can publish on your blog and other social media sites.
